This simple, reliable recipe is perfect for baking with family, friends, or classroom groups. Easy to roll, cut, and decorate—these cookies hold their shape and taste just as good as they look. Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup granulated white sugar
1 egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp salt
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350℉.
Cream butter and sugar together for 3–5 minutes until light and fluffy.
Add egg and mix until fully combined.
Stir in vanilla, baking powder, salt, and 1 cup of flour.
Gradually add remaining flour until dough forms.
Roll out on a lightly floured surface and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 7–10 minutes.
Cool and decorate—or enjoy as is!
